Abstract

The world trade has undergone significant change in the last decade. Many new issues have come to the forefront to influence the trade patterns. The oonoems of environment, biosafet/, food and nutritional security, assertions of human rights, the sympathy for child labour, biopiracy of folklore and traditional knowledge based concepts and innovations to mention a few, have been exerting dominants influences. Transfer of polluting industries to developing countries, using poor economies for pollution control, exploitation of cheap labour, outsourcing from developing countries to developed countries are all totally new issues defying the relevance of the traditional theories of trade and the international boundaries.
